The First Book of the Kings  列王紀上

Chapter 1

When King David was very old and near the end of his life,
Absalom's brother Adonijah plotted to become king.

The prophet Nathan therefore advised Bathsheba
to go to David and remind him that he had promised
to let Bathsheba's son Solomon become king.

David then summoned the priests and royal guards
and ordered them and Nathan to anoint Solomon as king.

先知
纳堂因此建议巴特舍巴
去见达味,并提醒他,他承诺了让

Chapter 2

Before King David died, he encouraged his son Solomon
to love the Lord with all his heart and soul.

Solomon executed his main enemies and rivals,
including Adonijah who had again plotted to become king.

Solomon then was secure and safe as king.

撒罗满处决他的主要敌人和对敌者,

Dear God, thank you for the life of David
who, despite his faults, loved you with all his heart

Chapter 3

The Lord appeared to King Solomon in a dream
and said "Ask me for anything you'd like."

Solomon asked for wisdom: "Give your servant a heart to understand how to discern between good and evil."

God replied: "I now give you a heart full of wisdom,
wisdom greater than anyone else has ever had.

And I also give you what you did not ask for:
riches and glory and long life."

Not long after this, two prostitutes came for judgement:
they lived in the same house and both had given birth to a son,
but one of the babies died during the night.

The mother of the dead baby changed babies
during the same night
and claimed that the living baby was hers.

Solomon  asked for a sword to cut the living baby in two
and give half to each mother.

The lying woman agreed, but the real mother said
"No. Don't kill the baby. Give it to the other woman."

Solomon then knew the real mother was telling the truth
and gave the baby to her.

For wisdom such as this, Solomon's reputation spread far.

撒罗满王梦中显现
并说:向我要求任何你喜欢的东西

撒罗满要求智慧:给你仆人一颗懂得如何辨别善恶的

回答:我现在给你充满智慧的一颗心,智慧大于任何人从来所有的。

而我也给你你没有要求的:
财富荣耀和长寿

这之后不久,两个妓女为裁决而来:
他们同住一所房子和两人都诞下一个儿子,但其中一个婴儿在夜间死了。

当晚死婴的母亲把婴儿调换,
并声称活婴是她的。


撒罗满
要求
拿刀来,把活婴劈成两半和各母亲给一半。

说谎的女人同意,但真正的母亲说:
不。 不要杀害婴儿。 将它给
另一个女人

撒罗满因此知道,真正的母亲在说真话,
就给她婴儿。

由于这样的智慧,撒罗满的名声远播

Dear Lord, please give me more wisdom for my life

亲爱的,请为我的生活给我更多智慧

Chapters 4, 5

Solomon enjoyed peace with all his neighbouring countries.
He was blessed by God with great wisdom and understanding.

He composed 3,000 proverbs and 1,000 songs.
People from all nations went to hear Solomon's wisdom.

Solomon made preparations for building a temple for the Lord.

Hiram, king of Tyre, made a treaty with Solomon.
Hiram provided wood for building the temple.

撒罗满与所有邻国共享和平。
以极大的智慧和聪明祝福他。

他作三千句谚语和一千首诗歌。
各国百姓都来听撒罗满的智慧

撒罗满建造一座殿宇作准备。

提洛王希兰,与撒罗满立约。
希兰提供建造殿宇的木材。

Dear God, please help all nations
live peacefully with each other

亲爱的,请帮助所有国家
彼此和平共处

Chapters  6, 7

Solomon built the temple of the Lord with finest wood
and many precious materials.

The temple took 7 years to build.

Solomon also built a palace for himself.
This took 13 years to build.

撒罗满用最好的木材及许多珍贵的材料建造的殿宇。

殿宇花了七年建成。

撒罗满也为自己建造一座宫殿。
这花了十三年建成。

Dear God, may all temples and churches in the world
be places of prayer and peace

亲爱的,愿世上所有庙宇和教堂
是祈祷与和平之地

Chapters  8, 9

When the temple was finished,
Solomon shifted the Sacred Chest to the temple.

After the Chest was placed in the temple,
the glorious cloud of the Lord filled the temple.

Solomon then praised God and blessed the people.
Solomon prayed that the temple would be a place of blessings.

Solomon also prayed that all the peoples of the world
would come to know the Lord from whom all life comes.

The Lord again appeared to Solomon and said:
"I will be near to all who enter the temple you have built."

撒罗满
搬圣柜到殿宇。

当约柜被安放在殿宇后,

Dear God, may all temples and churches in the world
be places where people praise and love you

Chapter 10

Solomon's wealth continued to grow.
He acquired a fleet of ships for trading.
He also had a huge force of chariots and horses.

The queen of Sheba heard about Solomon's wisdom
and came to visit him.

Solomon answered all her questions.
None of her questions was too difficult for him.

撒罗满的财富继续增长。
他添置船队进行贸易。

他也有庞大的战车部队和马匹。

舍巴女王听说撒罗满的智慧,
就前来探访他。

撒罗满回答她的所有问题。
她的问题对他没有一个是太困难的

Dear Lord, please give wisdom to all world leaders

亲爱的,请将智慧给世界所有领袖

Chapter 11

Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines.
Many of these women were foreigners.

As Solomon grew old, his foreign women
swayed his heart to allow the worship of foreign idols.

This displeased the Lord
and led to the breakup of Solomon's kingdom.

Solomon was king for 40 years and then died.

撒罗满有七百名妻子和三百名妃嫔。
其中许多是外邦女子。

撒罗满年老时,他的外邦妻妾摇动了他的心,容许崇拜外邦偶像。

这使生气
结果导致撒罗满的王国分裂。

撒罗满作君王四十年,然后去世。

Dear God, please protect leaders from corruption

亲爱的,请防止领袖贪污

Chapter 12 - 16

After Solomon died, his son Rehoboam became king.
The people asked Rehoboam not to be harsh like Solomon.
Solomon had imposed heavy taxes, enforced labor etc.

Rehoboam asked the elders for advice.
They said "Treat the people kindly and they will serve you."

Rehoboam asked his peers for advice.
They said "Treat the people more harshly than your father."

Rehoboam accepted the advice of his peers.
Therefore the people of Israel rejected him as king.
Only the people of Judah accepted him.

The people of Israel made Jeroboam king.
He had previously led an unsuccessful revolt against Solomon.

Rehoboam and Jeroboam died and were succeeded 
by various kings who ruled over Judah and Israel.

12-16

撒罗满死后,他的儿子勒哈贝罕成为君王。
百姓要求勒哈贝罕不要像撒罗满一样的苛刻。

撒罗满征收重税,强迫劳动等等。

勒哈贝罕
向年长臣仆征求意见。
他们说:
善待百姓,而他们将服务你

勒哈贝罕向他的同辈问意见。
他们说:
比你的父亲更苛刻地对待百姓

勒哈贝罕接受他同辈的意见。
因此以色列人拒绝他作君王。
祗有犹大人接受他。

以色列人雅洛贝罕为王。
他曾率领一次不成功的反抗撒罗满

勒哈贝罕雅洛贝罕死了,而各君王相继继任,
他们统治犹大以色列

Dear God, please help leaders be kind to their people

亲爱的,请帮助领袖善待他们的百姓

Chapter 17

When Ahab was king of Israel, in the 9th century B.C.,
Elijah was a prophet of the Lord.

Elijah told Ahab there would be no rain for a long time
because the people were following the cult of Baal.

Elijah did miracles in the name of the Lord:
he blessed a poor widow's food to make it increase,
and he brought back to life a young boy who had died.

在公元前九世纪,当阿哈布以色列王
厄里亚
的先知。

厄里亚告诉阿哈布将许久不下雨,
因为百姓跟随
邪教巴力

厄里亚之名行奇迹:
他祝福一个贫困寡妇的食物,使其增多,
而一个已死的年轻男孩,他使其复生。

Dear God, please bless our prayers
 as you blessed the prayers of Elijah

亲爱的,请祝福我们的祈祷,
如你祝福厄里亚的祈祷
 

Chapter 18

In the 3rd year of drought,
the Lord sent Elijah to speak to Ahab.

Elijah got Ahab to gather all the people
and all the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel.

Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal
to produce fire to consume a sacrificed bull.

Elijah mocked the false prophets as they ranted and raved
and cut themselves, but produced no fire for their bull.

Then Elijah got the people to pour water on his bull
and he prayed to God to hear his prayer.

A fire from heaven then consumed the bull
and the people acknowledged the Lord as God.

Elijah then told Ahab there would soon be rain,
and the sky grew dark and produced torrents of rain.

到了天旱的第三年,
厄里亚阿哈布講。

厄里亚阿哈布召集所有百姓,
巴力的所有先知上加尔默耳山

厄里亚挑战巴力的先知,
产生火烧毁一头祭献的公牛。

厄里亚嘲笑那些假先知,当他们大声吵闹和自割,但是没有为他们的公牛产生火。

然后厄里亚让百姓向他的公牛倒水,
他就祈求听他的祈祷。

火从天上降下烧毁公牛,
于是百姓承认如同

厄里亚然后告诉阿哈布很快会下雨,
而天空渐渐变黑和产生暴雨洪流。

Dear God, please help people not to follow false gods

亲爱的,请帮助人们不跟随假神

Chapter 19

Elijah once spent a night in a cave.
The Lord then told him to stand at the mouth of the cave.

Then there was a mighty wind that shattered trees and rocks.
But the Lord was not in the wind.

Then there was an earthquake.
But the Lord was not in the earthquake.

Then there was a gentle breeze.
And the Lord was in the breeze.

Not long after this
Elijah called Elisha to become his follower.

厄里亚在山洞度过了
其后告诉他站在山洞口。

当时有暴风,它粉碎树和岩石。
但是不在风中。

然后有地震。
但是不在地震中。

然后有柔和微风。

Dear Lord, please help us
be aware of your presence in our lives

Chapters 20, 21

King Ahab wanted the vineyard of Naboth,
but Naboth refused to sell his ancestral inheritance.

Ahab's wife Jezebel then had Naboth murdered
and Ahab took the vineyard.

The prophet Elijah  confronted Ahab for his crime.
Ahab then repented of his crime.

阿哈布王想要纳波特的葡萄园,
但是纳波特拒绝出售他祖先的产业。

阿哈布的妻子依则贝耳于是杀死纳波特
阿哈布霸占了葡萄园。

Dear God, please help us respect other people's property

亲爱的,请帮助我们尊重其他人的财产

Chapter 22

Some false prophets encouraged the king of Israel
and the king of Judah to go to war.

Micah, a true prophet of the Lord,
warned the kings not to go to war.

The men of Israel and Judah were defeated in the war.
Ahab, the king of Israel, died in the war.

一些假先知鼓励以色列王
犹大王发动战争。

的一名真正先知米加雅
警告君王们不要开战。

以色列人犹大人战败。
以色列王阿哈布战死。  

Dear Lord, please don't let false prophets deceive the world

亲爱的,请不要让假先知欺骗世界
